IOAS as assessor

As well as working as an accreditation body making formal decisions on accreditation, the IOAS also works as an assessor where another entity (usually a government) takes the accreditation decision or decision on approval.

This is the case with the following schemes:

Assessment follows exactly the same sequence as accreditation and it is a core aim of the IOAS to combine assessment of certification bodies against any chosen schemes to provide maximum value from the process. The IOAS fee schedule is also designed to facilitate simultaneous assessment.
