Bioland withdraws
Bioland of Germany, first accredited by the IOAS against
IFOAM Norms in 2002, has informed the IOAS of the voluntary
withdrawal of their accreditation as of June 30th, 2009. |

IOAS surveillance of foreign sites
In keeping with the increasing international reach of
certification bodies, in the last 12 months the IOAS have
conducted witness and review audits in Guatemala, Vietnam,
Ukraine, Chile, P.R.China, Turkey and Canada.

IOAS and IFOAM Board Joint meeting
On April 18th the two Boards of IFOAM and IOAS
met to discuss the development of the IFOAM Accreditation
Programme. New proposals from a task force that sees
increased interaction with government systems, the
maintenance of the core IFOAM Basic standard and the
development of an Organic Quality System Accreditation
received widespread support. |
