Confusion on aspects of US-Canada equivalence
Despite the 2009 decision by the Canadian Organic Office to
take responsibility for the certification activities outside
of Canada for products being shipped to the US (which would
mean that certification bodies outside of the USA and Canada
could provide access to both markets via COR or NOP
accreditation) the USDA NOP office has not yet confirmed

CCOF withdraws
The certification body CCOF Certification Services LLC has
previously notified the IOAS of their withdrawal from the
IFOAM Accreditation Programme and that withdrawal becomes
formal today. CCOF remain accredited with IOAS against ISO
Guide 65 and under IOAS surveillance for the European
Recognition Programme and the Canadian Organic Regime. |
