Implementation of rules for CBs working in Mexico

In October the Mexican government published further rules regulating the organic sector including the design of a logo for use on products certified under the regulation which comes into effect in April 2014. All CBs (domestic or foreign) working in Mexico need to apply to SENASICA (the Servicio Nacional de Sanidad, Inocuidad y Calidad Agroalimentaria) for approval to perform certification before April. A pre-requisite for that approval is accreditation against ISO Guide 65 with an organic scope. The Organic Law of 2006 is available here and the contact person in SENASICA is Aurora Lobato at
