non-profit organisation that works on behalf of everybody involved
in organic agriculture to ensure trust and fair trade
in products labelled as organic. Our services are relevant to:

IOAS is to independently verify the competence (so-called accreditation)
of certification bodies active in the field of organic agriculture.
Through this verification we hope to build an ever-stronger production
base and market leading to a further expansion of the area of land managed
organically worldwide.

September 18:
The
EU implementing rules on organic production have been
published
in today's Official Journal L 250 as Commission Regulation (EC) No
889/2008.
September 17: The Canadian Organic Office have today made
public that the implementation date of the COR will be delayed from
December 14, 2008 to June 30, 2009
September 17: The IOAS are sorry to announce that staff member Stephanie
Goldfinch is leaving the IOAS. Afreen Rahman of New Zealand will replace
her.
September 1: The IOAS invite registrations for
their first training course in P.R.China on 'Management of Organic
Certification' - 10% discount for early registrations.
August 25: Dorota Metera of Poland has recently
been appointed to the IOAS Accreditation Committee.
