Organización Internacional Agropecuaria - Argentina

Organización Internacional Agropecuaria (OIA) was founded in 1991. Since then OIA has been a leading company for certification and dedicated to the guarantee consumers of the quality of agricultural, processed and industrialized products. OIA is based in Argentina with a branch in Brazil.

OIA is accredited under USDA NOP Programme, EN 45011 - ISO 65, CEE 2092/91, Utz Kapeh, SENASA, EUREPGAP, INMETRO, MSC, recognized by Quebec's Government, Canada and Bio Suisse for organic exports, and SAGPyA to audit for the Argentine Quality Seal. In 2006 they were approved to certify exports to Japan. In 2001 OIA was awarded IFOAM accreditation. OIA's IFOAM Accredited Programme scope includes crops, livestock, wild products, processing and handling, and input manufacturing.

OIA adapts certification to the peculiar characteristics of each region, taking into account ecological and social aspects. In accordance with its objectives OIA is independent from the operators that it certifies.

The members of OIA´s Independent Certification Committee represent different sectors related to organic industry which includes scientists, technicians, traders, consumers and producers. OIA´s inspectors include national and international professionals with excellent understanding of organic systems, food quality and security, agro-ecosystems and food technology.

OIA is an active member of the Argentine and International Organic Community, being a founding partner of the Argentine Movement for the Organic Production (MAPO), honorary member of the Argentine Chamber of Certified Organic Production (CAPOC), founding partner of the Argentine Chamber of Certification Bodies (CACER), is member of IFOAM, and charter members of the National Commission of Organic Agriculture. OIA also serves on the Advisory Committee of SENASA (the Argentine Agrifood Quality Service).

The organization's revenues originate from the inspection fees and certifications fees of the farmers' or manufacturers' production of certified products which are sold in the domestic market or exported. OIA receive no contributions or subsidies of any kind.
