TECPAR - Brasil
TECPAR, or the Instituto de
Tecnologia do Paraná, was granted accreditation against IFOAM Norms in
February 2009.
TECPAR is a public company
under private law, located and with jurisdiction in the city of Curitiba,
State of Paraná, and was founded in 1940 with aims of providing better
conditions for development and business.
TECPAR was instituted by the Law n° 7.056 of 04/12/78 and forms an integral
part of the Government of the State of Paraná, linked to the General Office
of State of the Science, Technology and Higher Education.
It possesses administrative and financial autonomy and its main purpose is
to collaborate with the scientific and technological development of the
private and public sectors. TECPAR is a non-profit organisation.
The TECPAR organic programme
currently only operates inside Brazil. Two organic programmes are offered:
the Brazilian Organic National Program and the TECPAR IFOAM programme. Only
the latter is within the scope of the accreditation.
Categories of activity include Crop
production; Livestock; Wild products; Processing and handling; Input
Manufacturing; Certification transference; Aquaculture; Fibre processing.
